Fall Skincare Tips

Fall Skincare Tips

It repeats every year. Summer's hot winds down and the cool weather slowly makes its way in. As fall comes, we pack away those shorts and summer dresses. It feels good to drag out the sweaters and the jeans. Because your long sleeves and jeans cover your skin doesn't mean that you can take a break from your skin care routine! Proper care can mean the difference between healthy skin and dry flaky skin! To help maintain your best look as you go through fall this year, try these tips. Make sure to pay attention to your skin for clues!

1. Perfect cleansing
Cleansing is the most important step you can do for your skin! If you’re finding that your cleanser is feeling a bit too harsh, look for something that will leave your skin more moisturized. After cleansing, think about how your skin is feeling. Is it comfortable and smooth, or does it feel tight? If it’s the latter, keep looking, as that means your skin is still too dry after cleansing. You want to avoid that dry feeling going into fall and winter.

2. Exfoliate dead skin
Use an oil-based scrub to exfoliate dead skin from your dry and flaky skin! Start the new season with a full body exfoliation session! Oil-based scrubs are wonderful because they not only exfoliate but also hydrates and prevents

moisture evaporation.

3. Use thicker moisturizer
Fall is the season to bulk up with heftier hydration. We recommend a heavy cream to keep your skin hydrated for a long time. As the air becomes drier, your skin needs a thicker moisturizer that provides a stronger oil barrier meaning both reduce water loss from the outer layer of skin and provide hydration to the deeper layer of skin at the same time.

4. Hydrating Facial Mask
The transition from summer to fall to winter bring drier air, which can rob your skin of moisture. That means that even if you change your moisturizer, it may not be enough, especially when the winds blow and the heaters come on. You may not have needed a hydrating mask in the summertime, but now it’s time to start using one again. During your weekly at-home spa treatment, we recommend our Sheet masks! Their Jelly essence will leave your skin feeling smooth and deeply nourished.

5. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
All this dry, blustery weather is dehydrating to our skin. We should drink glass after glass of water but because the skin is part of creating a balance in our internal and external worlds, sometimes we need a little extra topical hydration to fight that external battle.

Your skin shines as much as you care(properly)! Say goodbye to dry flaky skin!

Places your body shows its age
January 17, 2018

Places your body shows its age

We all know that, when we get old, we get wrinkles from time to time. However, it’s really hard to notice it until we look at the old photo because we look at ourselves every day.  By now, we all should be aware of that daily skin care routine is significant to maintain healthy and young skin. Even if we have used all different kinds of skin care products from getting wrinkles, dryness, and acne, we might have forgotten the most important parts of our body that might reveal our age.

Today, we would like to briefly tell you guys about what are major three body parts that betray you from looking young.

  • Eyelids: The first sign we get from wrinkles is the eyelids.  The eyelids skin has the thinnest skin and it loosens with age. Also, putting and removing eye make-up will stretch the muscles and will grow weaker. That is why, the majority of basic skin care products contain eye cream, eye serum.  Therefore, when we remove our eye makeup, we should remove them gently.

  • Neck: It’s really difficult to notice our hidden parts of our body. Especially the neck- why? Because we don’t really look at our neck and barely or never put any moisturizer, which is crucial to our neck from getting wrinkles. Also, when our skin is dry, it’s the shortcut to getting wrinkles, that’s why hydration is so important to our skin. In addition, nowadays, we always look down to use our smartphone devices, (also known as TECH NECK). That constant craning of our head to look down at our phone screen will develop wrinkles around the neck. Therefore, we need to do neck stretch from time to time and put lotions around the neck.  Shockingly, our millennial generation’s’ neck wrinkles are coming to us younger and younger because of high usage of electronic devices.  (Imagine, having heavy neck wrinkles, with no facial wrinkles, wouldn’t it be weird?).

  • Hands: We use our hands for everything. The hands are one of the parts that get the most wrinkles. Our hands are always exposed to sunlight and dryness from washing hands frequently. Especially, we most of the times don’t well moisturize them when we sleep. Believe it or not, our hands are aging every day! No matter how looking young we are, if our hands have a heavy wrinkle, it’s going to reveal our age right away.

Now, we all know that it is significant to take care of each part of our body. We should try to moisturize our hidden parts of our body to prevent from getting wrinkles. Once our body starts with getting wrinkles, it will be harder for us to stop it. Don’t you guys want a young, healthy, and firm skin? To remain our youthful skin, we need to start now!

Stay young and healthy!

With love,

How to take care of your skin in the winter

How to take care of your skin in the winter

Happy New Year Everyone!  2018 came to NYC with the coldest celebration in 100 years.

We always prepare ourselves for the winter because we simply hate the cold weather and don't want to get sick. During the holidays, we go to shopping for our new jackets, a new pair of winter boots, gloves and yet, skin care products. No matter how we warm ourselves up from thick layers of clothes, this does not mean that our skin is safe from the cold. Why? because winter makes our skin dry which the skin gets aged at the most.

Before we go on, we need to understand a few factors on why skin care at home is significant, especially in the cold weather.

Why does the cold weather make your skin dry?

  • The majority of times, dry skin occurs during the winter months because the humidity level decreases. Therefore, when the temperature and the outside air decreases, it gets cold and dry- in other words, the water in our skin (which it helps maintaining the moisturization on our skin) evaporates more quickly in the winter and makes your skin dry.  In addition, indoor heating crucially dehydrates the skin because it steals moisture from the skin.

How can we prevent the dryness on your skin?

  • It’s simple! Just keep in mind, Don’t forget to moisturize our skin every morning and night! Dedication is the key. The Meg’s All Day Good Skin Sheet Mask Bundle (AM & PM Mask) will help the skin from arid skin. Good Morning AM mask infused with Peppermint Leaf water which purifies and soothe stressed and tired skin from the dehydration of the skin from the heater. It is perfect for the morning time before the make-up. In addition, Good Night PM mask infused with Avocado Fruit Extract which helps with nourishing the skin while maintaining skin firmness. It consists of camellia sinesis leaf water, which it provides intensive moisture and elasticity to the skin at night.

How to use All Day Good Skin Sheet Mask

  1. Cleanse face and apply toner.
  2. Remove plastic film, and place the mask on the face.
  3. Leave on for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Remove the mask, gently pat to absorb remaining essence.

Keeping skin healthy is significant for a youthful look!

Start your skin care today~

Keeping glamorous skin during the summer time

Keeping glamorous skin during the summer time

Summer, Summer, Summer. Do you have any plans for summer vacations or social gatherings? Any exciting plans? Summer is the best season for traveling, exercising, gathering, playing and loving.  However, it is also the best season (or should I say BAD season) for getting sweaty, dry, sunburn and break out skin. Isn’t it so hot and humid outside, but cold and dry inside? These fluctuating temperature and air condition make our skin more complex and unhealthy, so taking care of our skin in the summer is an essential step! Here are some of tips and guides you need to remember! Well do not just remember, take it into action!

 1. Exfoliating

Cleaning your dead skin is the basic step to maintaining glamorous skin for the summer. If you keep your dead surface and apply functional beauty products, you will not get any surprised outcomes. Using scrubs and pilling gel is the fundamental way to exfoliate your skin. But don’t forget to use those products once or twice a week. If you over use it, your skin layer is going to be thinner and it may lead to weaker skin surface.

7 layered toners is a way to keep and maintain your healthy skin surface. Does it sound like it’s a lot of work? It is not complicated process. Just apply toner on the cotton pad and rub it on your skin OR use clean hands and gently tap it onto your skin. Repeat this 7 times with new cotton pad containing toner.

So, why is this beneficial to your skin? It can remove dust on your skin and clean up the dead surface skin cells. Also, it is the way to hydrate your skin before applying essence or moisturizing cream. This may sound like an insane step, but try out the 7 layer toner on days when your skin feels extra de-hydrated, it does wonders!

Fun Fact: Currently, there is an interesting beauty trend going on in the K-beauty World, it is called toner wash. Toner wash is exactly what it sounds like it is, “Toner Wash”. After basic cleansing, you mix in toner with water and wash your face. That’s it! It is becoming more popular among innovative beauty lovers. If you wash your face with toner at the end of your cleansing process, it brings fresher and cleaner finish. Also it can be the beginning of your skin care routine.

 2. Keeping hydrated

Especially, in the summer time, we lose hydration and energy due to the burning HOT sun. But! There is a way to stay well-hydrated and fresh.

Drinking water is the best and the cheapest option to take hydration not only for our body, but also for our skin. Drinking a least of 3 liters of water daily is recommended for an adult. Drinking water is not only good for your health but also your skin. It is the secret key to clear skin.

Additionally, did you know watermelon is literally one of the greatest fruits ever? According to watermelon.org, watermelon has various nutrition like, vitamin B6, A, potassium and antioxidant power. It contains mostly 92% of water, so it can be great alternation of water. YES, 92% of the watermelon is actual H2O.

Don’t forget your skin. You can feed moisture into your skin via diverse ways, but using sheet masks are the best! Some people think sheet masks are only for fall and winter season, but that is mistake! We need to start taking care of our skin by using sheet masks at every season (or every day!). Sheet masks are definitely for moisturizing, but it can have more magical functions like anti-wrinkle, brightening and calming, you name it. You can easily pick your sheet masks regarding to your skin concern. Also, don’t forget to clean your face before using sheet mask.

 3. Taking a cold showers

Say goodbye to steamy HOT showers. Cooling down the temperature of your body and skin can help you to survive in the deadly hot summer time. Taking cold showers may sound horrifying, but cold temperature can help our body to keep warm, since it makes more overall oxygen rates in our body.

Slightly cold water can bring glossy skin and hair. According to Medical Daily, using cold water can tighten our cuticles and pores whether than using hot water which can dry out our skin. Also, it can improve circulation of blood in our body, so it helps to beat some problems of the skin and heart. If you are afraid at using cold water, you can take warm shower and can end up with cold water. Just deal with cold water 5 second then you can get those benefits.

 4. No more sunburns

Have you ever heard that the biggest enemy of aging skin caused due to sun-light? Sun-light is like a monster, so you need to protect your skin if you want to maintain youthful skin. Sunscreen, SPF is really, really important in the summer time. Sun-light can damage and break down collagen in our skin fiber, so it is the main reason of dead skin and wrinkles. There are two types of sunscreens, light absorption and light scattering. Light absorption sunscreens absorb different light from sun and break down the energy to avoid sun damages. It does not have any color, but it may irritate your eye. Therefore, avoid your eye while applying. Light scattering sun care products are slightly different with sun absorption. It scatters the light and defend the skin surface. This type has little bit of color, but it is non-irritating on eyes.

Using sun care product isn’t the only way to maintain healthy skin and avoiding sunlight, but also consuming SPF. Eating SPF? Do we need to eat sunscreen? No. You can protect sun damages by eating vitamins C and E. Vitamin C and E have sun protective function. Therefore, you can simply buy vitamins from drug stores or fruits containing C and E like orange, pineapple and grapefruits.
