Tips on how to get the most out of sheet masks

Posted by on

Sheet masking became a huge trend since it's been introduced in United States from South Korea. This innovative and trendy product consists of a one-time-use cotton sheet fiber or hydrogel sheet infused in a liquid-based essence. It is easy to use and you can see immediate results after one use. Sounds great, right?

Today, we would like to share some tips on how to use sheet masks properly and to get the most out of it. It is Sheet Mask 101 session.

TIP #1: Make sure to thoroughly cleanse your face. To get the best results out of sheet masking, you need to have a clean canvas so that all the good active ingredients in essence of sheet mask to penetrate deeply into your skin.

* Quick Tip: If your skin gets easily blushed and irritated by sun exposure, put the sheet mask in the refrigerator for about 30-45 minutes before using it. It will help cool down the temperature of your skin while tightening up your pores. Yay! (This is also an amazing tip for the summer)

TIP #2: Before opening the sheet mask, gently pat and rub the packet. This patting motion helps for the essence to evenly spread and adhere to the surface of the fiber.

* Quick Tip: Do not store the sheet mask vertically. It makes all the good essence soak down to the bottom and the top part of the sheet mask gets dry. You do not want to put a dry sheet mask, right? So I recommend you to store your sheet mask to flat down. If not, don't forget tip #2! It always helps!

TIP #3: Before fully opening, cut the corner of your sheet mask and squeeze out a some remaining essence. With a cotton ball or cotton pad, use it as a toner or serum to smooth out your skin before masking. Keeping your skin slightly hydrated before applying the mask allows the mask to better adhere to the skin.

TIP #4: For an extra lifting effect, lift the sheet mask upwards while applying the mask. And gently press and do facial massage to absorb the essence better.

TIP #5: We are going to pat your face twice! After 15 to 20 minutes, before removing the sheet mask, pat pat pat! (Yes, pat while the fiber is still on your face) Then, remove the sheet mask and pat the remaining essence into the skin again.

TIP #6: Do not sheet mask overtime. After 20 minutes, most sheet masks will start drying up and all the good essence and moisture you have gotten from sheet masking is going to evaporate and eventually the sheet mask draws moisture from your skin. You don't want that, right? So I highly recommend to put the sheet mask on less than 20 minutes.

TIP #7: Finish up with your daily moisturizer or face oil to lock in all the moisture from sheet masking.
